+“Give me that,” Archer said with a smirk as he reached out to pluck the cigarette from Saskia’s lips, placing it to his own. He took a long drag, felt the burn of it at the back of his throat before he exhaled slowly and let his eyes close. Saskia laughed, the sound full and husky. God, how he loved that laugh.
 +
+He hooked an arm around her, pulled her close. They lay tangled on the mattress on the low, metal-framed bed, the breeze coming through the open window to dry the sweat that glistened on their bare skin. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head, stretched out lazily and took another quick draw from the cigarette.
 +
+The minutes bled into one another and Archer basked in the moment, unable to wipe the faint smile of his face. He’d wanted her for so long, wanted so many times to brush her honey coloured hair out of her eyes and grab handfuls of it, bury his face in it, have those long legs wrapped around him while he...
 +
+“Fuck, Archer,” Saskia laughed, breath hot against his ear, jerking him out of his reverie as she traced a finger down over his scarred chest, over his stomach, lower still. He opened his eyes, glanced down and then gave her a lazy shrug and a wicked grin as he leant over to catch at her lips with his teeth. “If you want,” he told her slyly, but she was already pulling away and he let himself slump back on the mattress, denied.
 +
+“Business,” said Saskia as she stood, reaching for her black combat pants. Archer almost moaned as she wriggled them up over her sharp hips, shrugged on a white vest that didn’t quite hide the outline of her ni-
 +
 +“Archer.”
 +
+He blinked and looked up, saw her outlined against the window, just a dark silhouette visible along with a halo of fiery gold where the sun streamed through her hair. Behind her, the light glinted off the smooth metal of the sky city’s sleek structures and through a gap in the distance, he could just make out the glass and steel structure of the shuttle complex.
 +
+“Shit, kid, get a grip,” came Saskia’s voice again and Archer’s breath left him in a huff as she flung his bundled up clothes at him, one boot striking him in the chest. He sat up quickly, reaching to pull them on with his head bowed so that she wouldn’t catch his expression but he needn’t have worried. Saskia was at the window, leaning against the frame with her arms folded across her chest as she looked out.
 +
+“To business,” she said without looking back, a hard edge to her voice then. “The team’s assembled so meet at the shuttle launch in twelve hours. I need you to get there late enough that they have to go through your file in a hurry. All of the documentation’s been sorted but if you hit any problems, play the dumb soldier, do whatever you have to do.”
 +
+Saskia turned, her hair tumbling across her face as she stalked closer to Archer, who was in the process of pulling on his boots. He watched the sway of her hips, helplessly fixed in the grip of her blue-eyed stare until she moved in, leaning towards him. He thought she was going to kiss him. Archer closed his eyes in anticipation, waited but he felt her shift aside at the last second, then almost shivered at her voice, soft and low, close to his ear.
 +
+“I don’t have to tell you how important this is, Archer. Don’t let me down.”
