So, most people think that polearms are underpowered. Most people also hate being useless on scav runs. Why not make it so that in addition to the five "combat slots" on mobs, there are three bonus slots for people wielding a polearm? They're supposed to be reach weapons, but that doesn't translate into the game at all.

Even if it's at an attack speed or damage penalty, it would go a long way to making them more viable. This could make them more useful, make sole-wield a bit more attractive, and provide an outlet for people to be involved in scav runs beyond spamming rescue.
