A way to re-color items that have their color randomized upon creation. I think you (Holmes) told me to start a thread for the list of things but I never saw the need for it.

The only things I've encountered so far are:
earbud receivers
manacle receivers
handheld receivers
handheld radios
headsets
laptops

If there are any other items that are produced through progressive crafts and have a color variable, those likely get randomized too.

Holmes, you promised...

... to consider a cap on skill-gain within the town/sewers.

Maybe?

... Seriously? 'cause people who can't go outside aren't gimped enough already? How 'bout a cap on outside the walls skillgain? 'cause it seems excessive to me.

ummm...well, depending on your clan, you can just hammer out sparring and be just as good, if not better, than the people that go outside the walls. Better, in fact, if you do it consistently, because you have a controlled situation that can increase the rate of skill gains and can be done 2-3 times a day depending on your stats (Con healing-rate)

I'm not a fan of spar culture, even the tiniest amount, but I'm just saying, people who do it aren't finding themselves gimped.

But what about the people who don't?

then kudos! but I would imagine that combat skill gains probably aren't your focus if you don't do that.

People are power gaming their combat skills in town, at such a level, that they are just rocketing to the top in less than a week. I've seen week old PCs with ward/bash already.

But, that could be with no more than 4 skills and a boost.

How do you hammer out combat skills in town?

I'm pretty sure there -is- a cap, depending on the skill. Or at least an effective one.

Noted: From what most other people have said and what I'm seeing of where the cap hits, it makes it difficult to train anything past where you could start with it under a 4-skill build with RPP boosts.

Additionally noted: Reducing controllable methods of grinding skills to the same points available for RPP roles creates a stagnant affect where characters are statistically more determined by the longevity of the player than they are by things like play time or actual -doing-. I'm not sure that would be especially favorable to the MUD.

However: I -do- think some skills are seeming to be at least Master-able in the sewers, which might need consideration, as Aken suggested.
