I can actually answer! whooo! Anyway, the small, large, etc. is just to RP how big the decoration is on the item like, say a small etching on the grip of a gun versus an entire etching that covers it from barrel to grip in designs.
No, the quality of the etching (or any decoration) depends on the skill of the artist involved. A masterfully-etched etching is someone with a -really- high artistry skill, and can RP as being a truly great artist. (amateur is simple, talented is professional, I think you need adroit or heroic for master-level appearance, NOT SURE on that.)
that line allows you to mold exactly how the decoration looks, and while its not important for, say, a painting, its pretty cool for things like embroidering couches or etching weapons, where you can decide how prominent or inconspicuous your design is.

The color doesn't matter but after about 3-5 minutes your heart starts racing (echo)
then a bunch of other symptoms start happening over the next 30 minutes via echos.

So, it's a drug that makes people energetic. Spiders-crawling-on-your-skin and purple-elephants-with-fez-hats energetic? Or just heart-pounding, estacy-like energetic?

The echos seem similar to what molly would do (you feel at ease, senses are heightened in a pleasurable way, etc).
I figure one could RP it out as 'not agreeing with them'.. As if the drug was too intense, or whatever. I wouldn't imagine it would cause hallucinations though, beyond things looking brighter/glittery/etc.

I wrote them to be about as intense as marijuana..but a bit better.

They seem more or less like marijuana with a more 'up' high. Like marijuana with a dash of short-duration amphetamine.

ANd I hated everyone who did that because it made the ship over react in atonement and got drugs banned from the ship.
