Weren't people JUST asking for an upgraded wildlife?
Is it just too much of an upgrade, or are people just not careful about what they wish for?

I think the manner in which the upgraded wildlife has been put in is not how it was asked for.
You've apparently got lagatos then super buff lagatos, you can run into them anywhere and if you are unlucky enough to get a super buff one you are screwed.
This also poses a big problem for group sizes, we would rather have smaller group sizes and thats why it was said we would like a stronger super beast that only targetted large group sizes, encouraging smaller groups and allowing smaller groups to function.
As a direct result of this lagato buff the idea of taking 10 players out to even the factories is now a pipe dream, everyone is terrified of lagatos now and we wont do anything till our regular prime time 20+ man scavs.

I heard (though I'm not certain) the supertuff animals were the result of a bug rather than a feature.

I would still love to see some harder animals.
But not the ones we've been killing. Instead, new types of animals roaming around farther out would be awesome.
