Is branching totally random, or are certain crafts only made available at certain skill levels? If the latter, could the doc be updated to show when crafts are learned?

As far as I can tell, craft branches have always been relatively random, to a point.
What I mean by that is... If you want to branch ordinary crafts, but you still have a couple of poor crafts you need to branch, you need to finish branching the poor crafts before you can branch the ordinary crafts.
unless you're using ordinary crafts, in which case you can branch either poor or ordinary.

The way crafting works, actually, isn't all that random.
Branch crafts in your craft tree with at least one object that the craft you're using currently uses. > Branch crafts in your craft tree without objects that the craft you're using uses > Branch crafts based on the skill you are using, but in a different tree, with preference to crafts sharing an object > branch crafts based on the skill you are using, but in a different tree, with preference to crafts that don't share an object
So there is some randomness, but its not entirely random. If you want to learn how to craft something that uses a frying pan, you'll have a higher chance of branching it if you use a craft that uses a frying pan.
