We never had these crafts. They were always scavenge-only. Having them scavenge-only keeps the demand there.

If they were, it was because there was nowhere on the ship to scavenge them. Now that we have the apartments and hospital back, we can scavenge them. Maybe I'm wrong, though, I don't know. Throttle, Holmes?

They existed. They were made with plastic. iirc it was something like 'mold sparring-blade' or something.
I've been on a number of scavenging runs and have not seen any sparring l-blades. S-blades, bludgeons and polearms, yes; l-blades, no. Putting in scavvable l-blades would also do the trick.

I would be ok with either solution, honestly, as long as they became something that was found every once in a while, or could be made with long cooldown/high plastic cost. I mean, I'm flexible, just would like them in the game as a 'slightly less lethal' option.

I kinda don't like this whole spar-all-day culture, but I'll see what Holmes thinks.

^ actually not a huge fan myself, have sparred maybe...twice since my PC started? But its something in demand, so I figured it worth mentioning.

Nope. My official position is that sparring is silly.
