Really, if it's info dispensed to a select few, it's the select few's responsibility to distribute it. Which, so far, they seem to be, with a handful of exceptions, doing a somewhat poor job of posting. Disappointingly so.
This very thing has been brought up by staff, in the past. And since then, only seems to have gotten worse. Hopefully it will start to get better.
(And this isn't a target towards "bosses", but anyone "in the loop". The IC boards are your friend, if you're trying to involve the entire community.)

Kel: Sometimes your PC won't know about RPTs/events beforehand ICly. Consider this an OOC warning from admins that an event is going to happen, and you can make yourself available OOCly.

I think people have been doing a pretty bangup job on board postings on things that would be public knowledge too, comparatively. Just, yanno, as a sideline.

Aside from a few hiccups, this went well from my end. I'm happy to hear any complaints, or suggestions either publicly or privately (holmes@parallelrpi.com).
One request I'd like to make: Please don't force me to spam stop. I get it, you want to get into combat. But if I ever have to spam stop ten times again, I'm just going to command all the NPCs to focus on the person starting combat, and we'll see how long you last, before I let everyone else enjoy some RP.

It may not be all players- I saw some people swing, but I also saw some NPCs aggro without anyone doing anything.
