Not to... you know... stir the already over-stirred pot or anything, but as an aside... how exactly do you gun down somebody who isn't playing? And again, it's really as much an OOC issue as an IC one, which is what makes it such a problem to deal with.
Clarification: I mean as a general situation, not this particular one that keeps coming up, just so that's out there.

It's definitely not an ideal situation. But the current situation is really no different than having an NPC leader that delegates responsibilities to the PC clanlead.
I might also add that if you have a desire to RP with a certain person who isn't very active, it's maybe as simple as mudmailing them or posting to an IC board that you're looking to talk to them.

You really can't characterize the situation as such, because that's pretty much entirely untrue of what is actually going on.
Further, being a member of said clan and having asked around, there has been zero mention of unhappiness with the current clan leadership arrangements directed toward anyone who might be in a position to actually -change- said arrangements.

I don't see the complaint that anyone is being held "hostage" as true. This clan has fine leadership and there is nothing that can't be handled by the current, more active people in place; I can't remember the last time something was delayed because of the person at the top.
