The sleek batteries in the newbie shop start with 100 units, so maybe that's something that needs to be adjusted?

Sleek batteries from any shop definitely start at 200, not 100.

I picked up 3, and they were all at 100 (two of them still are). But that was on day one, so coulda been changed since then?

It has been. It was a late ARPI change to represent that we were handcrank charging batteries so they didn't last as long, and Staff returned it to 200 shortly after day 1.

There's a ton of ways to get batteries now.

To flag something with the audits :
To make a blanket:
2hrs craft timer
5 foam batting
10 of a bolt of fabric
Not bad, you might say.. BUT
foam batting =
10 of a bar of plastic
20 of a bolt of fabric
spinneret
To make a blanket, in total, it will cost :
110 bolt of fabric
50 of a bar of plastic
5 uses of spinneret (which is one of the machines that seems to break often alongside lathes)
I don't know much about fabric and such, bat daaayum. Seems like you rich if you can afford to make one.

Believe the foam batting object is enough to make 4 blankets. It's a "uses" item.

OK, new crafts are in for making small building frames. You now have to use a craft 5 times with a 6 hour timer to make construction supplies, which is handicraft. With those supplies you can now make the frame with another 6 hour timer. You only lose 2/5 of the metal if you fail.

I was looking over the standard metallurgic practices that my character follows with his armoring, and I saw some obvious improvements I wanted to put foward right off the bat:
(Go ahead and stop me if the Rust Town iron alloys dont temper.)
-Tempering and quenching usually makes iron alloys harder and less likely to crack. This is only if you temper and quench with the right anneal, the right quench, and the right order of the process.
*I wanted my character to learn about this because one day he was in a hurry, so he cooled his plate collection with his canteen of water. Then he noticed the different properties and started experiementing with it.
-Thickening for ballistic use would require that large plates be forged with a thickness of 1/4" (as a substitute for hardened kevlar layers), and they would need a carrying outift.
Fortunately I've already researched all of this and done up some diagrams for a craftable bodysuit of tempered bodysuit. My file has a mockup of the items description, examination and evaluation prompts, the materials prompt for crafting it and the new items needed to make it. My file also has links to back up my research.
If this is a pursuable craft I'll gladly post my file, if not I understand, silver and formaldehyde are rare for a reason, and composite armors arent craftable for a reason.
