It'd be fun to have a vehicle craft, that maybe tied in with electronics or mechanics and armorcrafting and some other crafts.

You could start off with stuff like skateboards and bicycles and work up to cars, armored tanks, hovercrafts... Smile

Dmote doesn't permanize on robots. Soon as they're deactivated, you need to put the dmote on it again once it's started up. Don't know if it's feasible, but permanizing dmotes and keywords on robots would be -wonderful-

Not really doable because they get destroyed and recreated every time they're turned on/off. Ditto with decorating.

Here is a random question attached to an idea.

Why does time move at 4x speed in game? I can see why this would normally happen, so that people can actually be around for daylight times and night times respectively, but on the Moon the cycles are so skewed I don't see that being a problem. Mostly I ask because it's odd to see some people standing by this and then there's others who use ingame time units to refer to RL ones.

The idea, then, is make the game run at 1x speed. This will also help with making injury actually feel less silly to RP out, since you know you won't feel totally 'better' in two hours. And more work for medics/medicine!

Making clocks would make a nice mechanics craft. Thought it'd probably be rather hard, given ya have to make and calibrate the fine gears and whatever

But... my one-night stand that lasted 4 days..! Epic!

In all seriousness, this is an idea I would be interested in exploring, too.

Not having long conversations last 2 days (without food!), and being able to retain the effects of all sorts of physical situations (injury, but also inebriation, hickies, the-paint-from-when-I-erected-that-building, you name it) would be really nice. It would also be slightly easier to schedule small-scale, play-it-by-ear future activities and make more sense -- "I have to sleep now, but let's get together and finish this in 4 days" is not my favorite.

I'm used to just taking this for granted because of SOI, and for all I know a coder would be required to change it. But I, too, wonder if it would be possible or desirable to have the game progress in real time. I'm sure there are any number of downsides that I'm not really seeing at the moment, too, which I welcome someone to point out.

Having played both ways, in real time and at 4x speed, I can say that the only possible downsides to 1x speed are:

- If you have a night-time that's dark/affects play, it sucks for people who always have to play at certain hours. NOT THE CASE HERE, NO PROBLEM.

- MUDs typically move "faster" than RL anyway - I mean, think about how many "life-changing" events happen over the span of a character's life, even one who only lives a few months, much less RL year(s). It can sort of help to explain that stuff away if it's happened over a year ICly rather than just 3 months.

- Not getting to see your character's age tick up. But eh, who cares?

That said, I don't think the second is really a big deal anyway. It can be a little shocking at first when people fall in love almost overnight, but if we just shrug and say "That's how Rusters are," then no biggie. And hey, life's rough. People shouldn't be going insane because of grief or trauma very often - these sorts of things (the traumatic events that happen IG) happen all the time in Rust. That's just life, people deal with it.

TL;DR: I vote for 1x speed if we're going to consider it. It's not a huge issue for me, but overall I find I prefer it to the weird mental gymnastics needed to explain how I just had an 8-hour long conversation with someone, or how a fight with someone lasted literally an hour, et cetera.

Tons of cooking crafts:
Bake Bread
Bake Cake
Scramble Eggs (Should be able to cut lagato eggs from female lagato bellies, a hard butchery check.)
Brew Whiskey (Fermented grain jugs would be great to distill into proper, old-world whiskey)
