Fair enough. As long as it's not permadamage ala weapons/armor, but for PCs, I won't protest.
Hopefully we can crowdsource ideas for cybernetic enhancements/prosthetics now.

Maybe permanent injuries that can be that can be treated temporarily by docs. Repeated visits.

At this time I feel a perma damage thread should be made to keep it out of this thread. Its only going to detract from the focus of the original posters goal and thought process. I do apologize for the derail from my first post.
Back on topic...
I would look directly into the cybernetic chargen. There are already -several- cybernetics and prosthetic variables there. It could be borrowed from and even used as a standard for accepted types that would be commonly found.
All that would need to be done would be to categorize them.
